Can I enter by fax or mail?
Sorry we only accept online entries through Eventbrite.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Anyone can enter the Dirty Dog Tail Run. Children aged 5 years and under run free, however parents must accompany children aged 12 years and under at all times on the course. Participants aged 17 years and under must have a parent/guardian sign the waiver on their behalf.
What's included in my entry?
Not only do you and your pooch get a fun day out together, you'll both get a super cool bag of goodies, including a Bark Buff, race bib, finishers medal for your pooch, doggy treats, refreshments on the course, plus your entry will go towards raising money for our charitable partner Sweet Pea Animal Rescue.
What's the refund policy?
Sorry but we do not offer refunds. However you can transfer your ticket to someone else until midnight on the 17 August 2019. Details on how to do this can be found by clicking here.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes you can update your registration information including changing your wave time up until midnight on the 17 August 2019. Details on how to do this can be found by clicking here.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes please keep your tickets handy either in the Eventbrite app or print your tickets and bring with you to check-in.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The event site is at the Coopernook State Forest Headquarters, located on Forest Rd.
Coming from the north or south take the Jericho Road Moorland exit and then follow the signs to the Dirty Dog Tail Run.
If travelling north, do not take the Coopernook/Lansdowne exit or George Gibson Drive, continue past both of these exits until you reach Jericho Road, where you will exit.
Convenient free parking is available on-site.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated to take part in the event?
Yes, your dog/s must be fully vaccinated to take part in the Dirty Dog Tail Run. If you are unsure whether your dog will be able to complete the Dirty Dog Tail Run, please seek veterinary advice prior to registering for the event. If your dog has recently had an operation, you should also seek advice from a veterinarian.
What safety information do I need to be aware of to take part in the
Dirty Dog Tail Run?
It's vital that all participants, both two and four legged have a safe and enjoyable experience at the event. To take part in the Dirty Dog Tail Run, all dogs must:
* be fully vaccinated and registered
* have had a flea, worming and tick treatment based on the recommendations of the product used
* be on a leash at all times
* be reasonably fit and exercised regularly in the lead up to the event
* be socialised and non-aggressive to people and other dogs
* be wearing a collar with an identification tag
* Not be in season
* Must not be declared dangerous or menacing
Can I bring other animals, other than my dog?
The Dirty Dog Tail Run is a human and dog only event. Please do not bring any other type of animal to the event.
What can I bring into the event?
* Bottles of water for humans and hounds, including portable bowls for your pooch
* Comfortable walking/running shoes
* A raincoat if necessary
* Sunscreen, and some for your pooch too - don't forget the nose!
* Sunglasses and a hat
* Money to buy food and to purchase merchandise and other cool dog gear on sale at the event
* Poop bags to pick up after them
I've entered - so what happens next?
Great stuff! You would have been sent your ticket by email, which you'll need to bring along with you either using the Eventbrite app or as a print out along with your photo I.D to check-in at the event.

When will my pooch receive their doggy bag?
When you arrive to the registration desk at the event you will be given your doggy bag which will include your race number (to be worn by you at all times during your run) and a Bark Buff. Your hound will receive their finishers medal at the finish line! Plus there will be loads of scrumptious doggy treats out on the course too!
Am I and my pooch fit enough to take part in the Dirty Dog Tail Run?
The Dirty Dog Tail Run is for all fitness levels. We strongly recommend that you and your hound are reasonably fit and exercised in the lead up to the event. You can choose to run or walk the course.

Is the course safe?
Yes, the course has been designed with safety as a top priority; however please note that you are moving through a dynamic environment so please take care on the course.
When should I arrive?
Arrive at least 20 minutes before your wave start time. This will allow you and your pooch to check in, grab your doggy bag and gear up for your run!
Do I have to pay for parking?
No, parking is free.
What should I wear?
Wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. There’ll be plenty of prizes for best dressed pooches too!
What happens if I or my pooch gets injured during the event?
There will onsite first aid teams and a veterinarian and vet nurse onsite during the event should injury occur.
Can I wear a hydration pack or take a drink bottle with me on the course?
Yes you can. There will be Bark Bars (refreshment stations out on the course).
Can I take a go-pro or camera with me on the course?
Yes you sure can wear a go-pro or bring along a camera to capture your Dirty Dog Tail Run experience for personal use only, however all we ask is that you share your experience with us at #dirtydogtailrun
You must seek verbal approval from people before filming them. Organisers take no responsibility for items damaged, lost or stolen during the event.
What if it rains?
You will get wet! The Dirty Dog Tail Run will go ahead rain, hail or winds, however we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event on the day in the case of dangerous weather or for any other reason.
If the Dirty Dog Tail Run has to be cancelled due to weather, natural disaster, acts of god, terrorism, war, or any other really bad occurrence deemed by us, the event will be re-scheduled. No refunds will be issued, however the credit will be transferred to the new event date.
In the unlikely event that the Dirty Dog Tail Run has to be cancelled or postponed you will be contacted by email and updates will be posted on the Dirty Dog Tail Run website and Facebook page.
If you are in doubt as to whether the event will be proceeding as planned check the website.
Are spectators welcome?
Sure - the rego zone will be cool with all sorts of stuff happening. Spectators will get a great view from the finish line but will not be allowed on the course.
Will there be prizes?
Yes! We will be giving away some fantastic prizes for best dressed pooches, plus prizes in our fun games throughout the day.
Will there be food and beverages for sale at the event?
Yes – lots of yummy food will be for sale at the event.
Will there be somewhere to store my gear while I am running?
Unfortunately we do not have bag storage onsite. We recommend leaving valuable items in your vehicle.
Where can I get copies of official photos taken at the event?
We will post updates on the Dirty Dog Tail Run Facebook page.
